Used Manitou Aerial Lifts Rialto

Used Manitou Aerial Lifts Rialto

There are several applications that require much more reach than the normal job. For these instances, the ever-growing variety of telescopic and articulating booms is a great alternative. Electric or engine powered or bi-energy booms are great for outdoor, indoor or rough-terrain use, so basically, there is a suitable boom lift available for every type of job. Just take the time to figure out what type of cargo you would be dealing with and what types of capacities you would require to get the task done.

Articulating booms are described as aerial work platforms that use many boom sections which articulate or hinge. These equipment provide a maximum reach of 21 feet 5 inches or 6.25 meters to 69 feet 9 inches or 21.26 meters. These models can vary in height between 11.14 meters and 36 feet or 141 feet or 43.15 meters. Articulated boom units are normally classified by horizontal reach and by platform height.

Articulating booms are normally utilized to access work places over obstacles and barriers including equipment or shelving. As opposed to telescopic booms, they have less horizontal outreach, the articulating booms offer greater versatility and better up and over positioning . This enables better access for overhead work places from aisles and from congested places. Throughout the variety of articulating booms, most of them can hold weight capacities of as much as 227 kilograms or 500 lbs. These equipment could easily raise 2 operators and their tools and at times extra supplies.

Similar to scissor lifts, the industrial and rough terrain articulating booms are often outfitted with non-marking tires and are made for indoor application. Most of articulated boom manufacturers use clean burning fuels like liquid propane gas or LPG or DC electric power for their industrial units. AC drive system technology is popular in industrial forklifts, though it is new to the aerial work platforms market. This technology combines 3-phase AC drive motors along with DC batteries for more braking and drive speed, continuous control of turning and overall energy efficient operation.

Rough-terrain models are particularly designed to negotiate rugged construction site locations. With features like lug-tread tires, diesel engines, 4-wheel drive and an oscillating axle, these specialized items are common-place on rough-terrain articulating booms. These heavy-duty extras are what make these machines able to withstand the rough environments they work in.
