Bud Bushnell established Genie Industries in 1966, after he bought the manufacturing rights to a material lift that operated on compressed air. The name Genie originated from the "magic in the bottle" which was used to raise and lower the hoist. This device greatly impressed clients and thus, the name was established.
Genie expanded operations and established itself into different new markets, because the demand for work lifts and platforms grew. Over time, as the requirements for new machines to meet many applications grew, the company made itself recognized in numerous new markets. For example, Genie went into manufacturing telehandlers, stick booms, light towers, man-lifts and articulated booms.
Genie decided to obtain a partner who had the same values as a result of the economic downturn during the beginning of the 2000s, when they partnered with Terex. This company has a history acquiring machine manufacturers throughout the globe who proved to be a good business match. Genie Industries was sold during the year 2002 and became a part of Terex Corporation.
Because of the Genie name and its solid reputation in the workplace, it was determined to maintain the Genie brand name as part of the Terex Aerial Work Platforms. This was only decided after the first few years following the sale. Thus, all Genie machines continue to be sold under the Genie brand.
Genie takes pride in listening to their clients. The company is devoted to continually improving quality and efficiency and is also committed to minimizing waste. Even long after the sale has been closed, the company focuses on providing exceptional support. These are the very work practices which have made Genie a trusted brand name over the past decades and continue to keep their reputation for top-of-the-line and quality machinery.
The Bi-Energy and DC machinery offered by Genie provide quiet operation, emission-free even in the most delicate work environments. Where the equipment must be driven significant distances, such as within industrial situations, the Genie bi-energy system combines the power of a diesel-powered generator with the benefits of a 48V DC equipment.
Compared to any of the different types of aerial platforms, telescopic booms offer greater horizontal reach overall. These equipment are great for limited access areas in construction and other industrial environments. The Genie Telescopic S booms have been designed to offer utmost productivity. These machinery provide supreme traction and the drive speed you need in order to travel around the job area and work site.
