Telescopic lift trucks
Telescopic forklifts offer height and versatility. These units are outfitted with a pronged lift on an arm which extends over the top of the truck. The crane, or arm, is called a telescopic boom. The boom allows the operator to maintain a high degree of control while lifting the cargo to great heights. Regular lift trucks could not move the load towards and away from the cab of the forklift, while a telescopic forklift allows that movement. The telescopic forklift is usually utilized in both construction and agriculture. It is recommended for applications where greater lift and control is required.
In cases needing high volume carton handling, hydraulic attachments called forklift carton clamp attachments are recommended. The attachment has arm pads with four way reversible rubber linings which enable the operator to utilize uniform clamping force when lifting a load. It comes with a backrest that protects the cargo from damage.
A sleep sheet lift truck will normally utilize a slip sheet attachment for storing systems which don't use pallets. The attachment clamps onto the slip sheet and pulls it onto the forklift forks. This kind of system is useful for overseas shipments and intra-corporate deliveries.
A lift platform which is meant to lift employees is known as a Man Basket. It attaches to the forks on the forklift and a strap or chain is used to attach the basket to the lift truck carriage. The platform has railings to protect the workers from falling to the ground. Brackets on the platform are utilized for fastening the worker's safety harness.
