Use a Pneumatic Forklift
Pneumatic forklifts are common in shipping and warehouse operations. Also called pallet trucks or pump trucks, they are used to transport supplies and things around on wooden pallets utilizing metal forks which are mounted on a wheeled counterweight. The counterweight contains a pump which raises the forks off the ground. A pallet truck is intended to be operated by a single person.
To avoid loosing control while lifting heavy loads, pallet trucks should always be operated with care. Machine should be checked prior to operating. Clear the wheels area of any obstructions. Make sure that the handle smoothly turns. The pallet should be stacked carefully to be able to guarantee that nothing would fall off during transportation.
On the end of the pallet truck's handle, squeeze the level found on the inside of the metal loop in order to lower the forks and release the air in the pump. The forks could then be pushed into the slots of the pallet. The forks should be centered to ensure equal distribution of the pallet's weight across them. Lift the forks from the ground by pumping the handle of the pneumatic lift until the pallet has cleared the ground completely. Do not lift the pallet very high or the forklift could unbalance.
Move the pallet by pulling on the handle and then dragging it behind you. It is really not safe to push the pallet ahead of you as the thrust could cause it to go out of control. Take turns slowly and don't attempt to stop suddenly. Slowly come to a stop, squeeze the lever, and the forks will lower to the ground. Lastly, remove the forks from the pallet by pulling them out. Return the pallet truck to its permanent location.
