The Carriage
Similar to conventional lift trucks, the lifting attachment could be tilted from its horizontal position to backwards and forwards. The actual possible amount of tilt completely exceeds that of vertical mast lift trucks. There are various types of available lifting attachments, and this ability to position makes them as efficient as possible.
Most telehandlers can tilt forward to a point where the carriage is actually parallel with the ground believe it or not! Moreover, numerous units provide rotating carriages as well. This allows the operator to radially adjust the lifting attachment. This translates to the load being capable of being tilted backwards and forwards, as well as side to side.
Load Capacity
Telehandlers have a load capacity quite similar to that of the vertical mast model. The unit's overall capacity would be dependent on things like: boom angle and extension, whether the unit is lifting on rubber tires or on outriggers, and the amount of boom transaction deployed, if this is applicable. As well, which lifting attachment plays a very important role, as does the wind, the grade the machine is operating on and so on. All of these specifics could be changing on a constant basis and this gives the operator a lot more information to think about.
Telehandlers would usually have several different load charts available to them, giving them a good reference they could use to determine a particular lift's load capacity. Depending on the unit in particular and the configuration of the boom, the load capacity may vary by thousands of pounds all together.
